Holiday shopping season is round the corner! Social media specialists and e-commerce managers are working round the clock to finalize their media plans. Facebook has been the platform of choice for social commerce, but recently Pinterest and Twitter are also becoming must-haves in every social media marketing plan!
To get maximum ROI for the Twitter strategy, it is important to understand how Twitter is influencing the shopping behaviour, especially in the Holiday shopping season. Twitter had commissioned a survey from research firm DB5 and found out some interesting facts:
- 45% of respondents said they would rather take Twitter shopping with them than their husband or wife!
- 64% of respondents said they have bought a product because of something they saw on Twitter
- 57% of respondents use Twitter to determine which stores to visit
Also its important to note that shopping conversations peaked around key shopping dates like start of October, Black Friday and Christmas.
